Naama Schendar, born in Jerusalem, is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice explores identity and individuality in contemporary sociopolitical structures. Schendar’s extensive experience as an actress, performer, and theatre and film designer contributed greatly to her aesthetic sensibilities. Her work draws from community-based strategies, and often relies heavily on participants’ knowledge and perceptions. However, her work differs from traditional participatory art in the sense that her position as the main author is crucial.
Schendar graduated with distinction from the Design Interaction master's course at the Royal College of Art in 2015. She is currently based in London.
