Interactive Africa is a business born out of creativity – the very currency it deals in. Unconventional in every way, labels like “publishing house”, “events business” and “PR” or “ad agency” simply do not do it justice.
Perhaps it’s best to keep the description short: commercial activists.
Interactive Africa uses its unique amalgam of marketing and commercial savvy, project management and logistic prowess, along with its highly experienced creative production services, to promote South Africa. This is exemplified in the marketing and project management of some of the country’s banner events of the last decade, from the First African in Space mission and the African Connection Rally to the 2010 Soccer World Cup and the 2011 Climate Change Response Expo. We believe that the biggest agent of change in Africa will be through skills transfer and trade – not aid.
It is this energy and passion for South Africa that has inspired the creation of Design Indaba, an institution which now encompasses a conference, expo, education initiative, development trust, creative content website and more, all of which reinforce that a better world is possible through creativity.
