As graphic designer, art director and curator Fabio Ongarato has gained an impressive reputation. Based in Melbourne, Australia, his graphic design firm, Fabio Ongarato Design, is renowned for the diversity of its work.
Ongarato's unique approach to design reflects his passion for contemporary photography and art direction. He works across a variety of fields such as fashion, corporate, arts and architecture, then deliberately crosses the boundaries between them.
Key projects include an identity and journal for the Australian Centre for Contemporary Art, a branding campaign for the Melbourne International Festival and advertising campaigns for fashion designers Akira lsogawa and Karen Walker. Ongarato also art directed the Australian issue of New York-based fashion magazine, Big.
Ongarato has won numerous national and international awards, including the prestigious ISTD London award for his work on Lineage – an exhibition on the work of architect Daniel Libeskind.
