From Langa, Cape Town, Asanda Mini graduated from the University of Cape Town last year. She’s an aspiring accountant and feels that business is the right footing from which to springboard her creative pursuits.
Her company, Unyazi, which is the Zulu word for light during a storm, is making a bold statement with handcrafted accessories.
The team produces handcrafted beaded watch straps that turn heads. Their beaded straps are about storytelling in Africa. Each watch strap or headband represents the craftsmanship of different African tribes.
They have been operational for six months.
