Alphabet Zoo

Artists Minekulu Ngoyi and Isaac Zavale create street-culture inspired products for Alphabet Zoo.

Alphabet Zoo is a duo of young Joburg-based traditional printmaking artists, Minekulu Ngoyi and Isaac Zavale. They formed a street-culture zine that invites collaboration from other young talented artists, illustrators, publishers and designers.

Ngoyi and Zavale both studied at Artist Proof Studios and have been exhibiting in group shows and independent projects for the past four years. These have included "Legends Of Culture” at 12 Decades in Maboneng, "At Hand" at Ithuba Arts Fund Gallery in Braamfontein and "Johannesburg Street" at GoetheonMain in Joburg. Ngoyi and Zavale work from their studio in Newtown and are involved with running the newly opened print studio Prints on Paper.

Alphabet Zoo create DIY-style products such as T-shirts, zines, tote bags, postcards, silkscreen prints as well as paintings on board.
