Welcome to Tribuneville

Exploring lost architectural dreams

‘Welcome to Tribuneville’ a new exhibition project by architectural cartoonist Klaus MAS Context invites viewers to step into an alternate reality of the Chicago that could have been. This imaginative project revives the visionary spirit of a 1922 architectural competition held by the Chicago Tribune, which invited architects from around the globe to design an iconic skyscraper for the city. While none of these audacious designs were built, Klaus’s work breathes new life into these forgotten dreams.

In a captivating blend of historical research and artistic flair, Klaus presents 60 dynamic drawings that bring to life the unrealized grandeur of early 20th-century Chicago. Each illustration is a vibrant testament to the bold creativity that defined the era, reimagining what the city’s skyline could have been with whimsical yet insightful detail.

The exhibition, currently housed at 150 Media Stream. The fusion of Klaus’s playful artistry with the contemporary exhibition space invites visitors to not only appreciate these historical visions but to also ponder their potential influence on today’s urban landscapes.
