Timeless modernity is reflected in every item featured in Marcel Wanders’s latest collection Zio.
Dutch designer Wanders has designed an elegant collection of furniture for his company Moooi’s exhibition at the 2014 Salone del Mobile. The main attraction of Zio is its alluring contrasts between fluid organic shapes, straight cuts and adorned woven textiles, which define the family of chairs, footstools, tables and buffet.
The Cocktail chair is an iconic, bold creation as it is patterned in the woven heritage of the Netherlands, while the Love sofas with their rounded forms provide a softer, cosy aesthetic. Straight, clear lines are seen in the Nest chair, where clear metal structures lift plump, soft cushions from the floor, creating a comfortable nest.
The Bassotti coffee table and cabinet family form somewhat of a modular system and can be mixed and matched according to various spatial requirements.
Zio is on display at Moooi’s The Unexpected Welcome exhibition during Salone del Mobile 2014 until 13 April 2014.
