Created by designer-researcher Bianca Carague, Bump Galaxy is a virtual community for mental health and care in a game world prototyped on Minecraft. It was built during lockdown in response to the need for connection. It is a virtual world and community aimed to assist with mental health and care.

“In Bump Galaxy, community members can virtually meet mental health professionals from around the world who work together on collaborative care programs.”

Carague designed this platform to create care for mental health that is more affordable and diverse for users.

“By visualizing psychology concepts onto a virtual landscape, caring also becomes more playful and collaborative, deinstitutionalizing healthcare and blurring the lines between a caregiver and care receiver. As the community grows, so does the world, making the landscape a direct reflection of the community’s collective healing.”
