Realm… an urban enquiry is an exploration of the essence of certain spatial conditions. Looking to both the abstract and the specific, architect Lorenzo Nassimbeni and fine artist Gabrielle Raaff collaborate on the Realm exhibition.

Taking place at Salon91 in Cape Town, as part of their contemporary art collection, Realm… an urban enquiry can be seen from 7 September to 1 October 2011.

Raaff draws with the use of shape, resulting in compositions that are abundant with clarity and innately architectural. As an architect Nassimbeni abstracts what he sees by employing an economy of line. With this he brings the architectural nearer to the artistic.

The shapes and lines in the work create a space, which through study and distillation, where a common realm is possible.
