Tri-light standing lamp by Dark Horse

Cape Town studio Dark Horse launches a minimal lamp with their signature angular aesthetic.

Interior designer Lise du Plessis and architect Jarrad Nelson are the designers behind Cape Town-based studio Dark Horse. Established in 2011, Dark Horse was born out of a desire to fill the local gap for inexpensive contemporary design.

“The latest product to join their range of clean-lined furniture and leather accessories is the Tri-light standing lamp, which launches 11 June at the Dark Horse showroom in Salt River, Cape Town. The all-metal lamp comprises three angular lampshades suspended from a bracket.
“We manufacture all of our products in Cape Town,” says Nelson. “It’s a core part of our business, as we believe in aiding our economy and driving growth in our small way. Our clients are then able to see the impact of their decision-making.”
Nelson and Du Plessis co-design: “Whilst we both design, the one takes a lead and the other offers a fresh insight. It works really well for us and we tend to produce better work with more iterations.”
