Joining meticulous design and fine mechanical skills, Marcel Wanders sets a new standard in the manufacture of luxury mechanical clocks.
Dutch designer Wanders was recently invited by Christofle, a leading French silverware manufacturer, to design a new clock. As Wanders is no stranger to creating standout timepieces the design for Christofle is a striking addition to any living space.
The clock, which forms part of Christofle’s Jardin d’ Eden silverware collection is oversized in its proportions and features complex etching work, one of the Dutch designer’s signature techniques. The clock carries iconic patterns including interlaced leaves, curled flowers and decorative apples against a geometric matrix reminiscent of a lush garden.
My sustainable strategy comes across in high standard design to create a timeless luxurious item to hold on to, says Wanders.
The state-of-the-art clock is available in an exclusive edition of 50.
