Stools are great multifunctional furniture pieces. They’re usually comfortable to sit on, rest your feet on and they’re also light enough to move around to where you need them.
Stools are fun and intelligent and now Habari are calling for stool designs inspired by the multitude of African forms. “Take a Seat – Make a Seat” in collaboration with VITRA Austria wants designers to demonstrate the connection between African and Western stool designs.
The stool design criteria include:
- Modern but simple manufacturing technology.
- Low seating height.
- Small and easy to move around.
- Small size – to fit into tiny European apartments.
- Made from natural or recyclable materials.
