Southern soul

Here's a look at the results of Southern Comfort's creative exchange challenge.

In June 2011 Southern Comfort launched the creative exchange competition, calling on South African creatives to submit artworks that capture an element of the Southern Comfort brand.

The creative work also had to include an expression of this alcoholic drink’s birthplace, New Orleans.

More than 100 entries were received and judges Craig Native, Jordan Metcalf, Suzette Bell-Roberts, Johann Schwella, Porky Hefer, Mike Epps and Guiseppe Russo selected their favourite five pieces. These were uploaded to the Southern Comfort SA Facebook page where the public could then vote for their favourite designs.

The winners of the creative exchange were as follows:

First place: Benedikt Sebastian for Don’t turn your back on a good thing.

Second place: Tsepo Makate for Boogie Woogie.

Tied third place: Byron Graper for The Spirit of Mardi Gras and Clinton Campbell for Let the good times roll!
