Studio Makkink and Bey’s ongoing investigation into reinterpretation and reuse informed their first-ever exhibition in Switzerland, at Mitterrand+Cramer. Entitled RePacked, the dynamic duo of architect Rianne Makkink and designer Jurgen Bey selected a special team to design and handcraft all of the 19 pieces using embroidery, woodwork and blue foam. Applying alternative materials to standardised objects, function was also questioned. For instance, by making cabinets from Plexiglas, they are repurposed as showcases.
