It’s clearly possible to train nature to 3D print chairs if the furniture being harvested by Full Grown is anything to go by. Why build it afterwards from timber, if you can just grow it ready-made?
The start-up was founded by craftsman, Gavin Munro who uses ancient techniques together with modern technology to create unique chairs and statues from living trees. “Each piece is unique, epitomising elegant cooperation between nature and craftsmen that could last for hundreds of years,” reveals Full Grown’s website.
From using a bio-facturing process, Full Grown is focused on developing sustainable products.
“We at Full Grown are developing an elegant, bio-facturing process that emits oxygen, absorbsCO2 and whose byproducts sustain the birds, the bees and other wildlife.”
Full Grown also offers a Chairs investment scheme which offers you the opportunity to become involved with the growth of Full Grown by investing in their first 180 chairs.
