At Salone Mobile in Milan recently, Design Indaba alumnus and creative director of Edra, Massimo Morrozi, launched a quirky project entitled, "Baghdad"- by the Israeli Ezri Tarazi, a lecturer in design at the Bezalel academy, together with the Campana Brothers offering, called "Brasilia".

The New Baghdad table is made up of different industrial aluminium profiles each one with a specific purpose, which together make up a map of the capital of Iraq, ploughed by river Tigris.

Brasilia, a chaotic assemblage of shiny splinters, aim to be a metaphor for the very stones that the capital of Brazil stand on. A meticulous piece of handywork that brings together polygonal-shaped pieces of Reflex, each one different from the other.

The Milan Furniture Fair is a must visit for those in the business of design - it's one of the world's biggest trade fairs. We visited this year, and captured some of the energy and work on display - especially those produced by young designers on view at the Satellite exhibition. It was also a chance to mingle - and reconnect with many Design Indaba alumni.
