Organic trinity

Ross Lovegrove merges time, form and space in his "Biophilia" collection for Milan Furniture Fair 2013.

From the Series

Technology, material science and intelligent organic form collide in Ross Lovegrove’s new “Biophilia” collection.

Pushing the boundaries between material structure and form, Ross Lovegrove had designed a furniture collection that introduces a profound change in the physicality of the three-dimensional world.

Taking its main characteristic from the design of Antoni Gaudi’s Sagrada Familia cathedral, noted in the pinnacle-like back of the seats, Lovegrove highlights his expert knowledge in advances in roto-moulded technology in design.

Biophilia further evokes a sense of time, form and space converging to form a harmonious trinity in each piece and as a whole collection.

Lovegrove’s Biophilia collection will be on display at Milan Furniture Fair from 9 to 14 April 2013.
