Nivea has created a doll that suffers from sunburn

In order to help teach kids about the importance of wearing sunscreen, Nivea has created this doll that turns red without protection.

Skincare and body care brand Nivea has found a way to demonstrate the consequences of going out in the sun without wearing sunscreen to children. They have created a doll made of UV sensitive material that changes colour to a painful red when exposed to the sun. However, just like human skin, if the doll is wearing UV protection it can safely enjoy the rays!

The Nivea doll teaches children in a language they understand: the language of toys and play. The brand is hoping this will prove to be an effective way for children to learn without getting burnt themselves.

"Protecting and caring is something we learn from an early age. This emotional bond is what this Nivea action offers," Joanna Monteiro, executive creative director at FCB Brazil, the advertising agency who are handing this campaign. "Through the magic of technology, children can see the sun's effect on the skin of the doll."
