Mountain high

The Mountain House seamlessly fits into its natural environment, with minimal impact on the site.

From the Series

Van Der Merwe Miszewski Architects recently completed the Mountain House at the foot of Table Mountain. In order to achieve the least impact on the site, the house is comprised of five separate pavilions that are recessed into the sloping terrain and surrounded by the existing natural fynbos. For visual continuity, Table Mountain sandstone was selected for the stone walls. The undulating roof curves like the cliff faces of Table Mountain.
