Leaving a legacy

With a little help from the Old Mutual Legends Programme your community project, NGO or black business could flourish in 2011.

The best things in life might be free but it’s also true that freebies don’t come around everyday. That’s why if you’re an NGO, community-based organisation, emerging black business or entrepreneur and you could do with some sound business guidance, you need to apply to the Old Mutual Legends Programme.

The virtual business incubator programme is a free-of-charge initiative aimed at helping craft and small manufacturing businesses become more successful. Interactive enterprise developments help carefully selected participants with a range of practical needs-based business skills, in the form of groups and e-learning. The programme also includes intensive business systems development, one-on-one mentoring, market access and peer-to-peer contact.

Between 2007 and 2010 programme beneficiaries reported a 280% increase in sales turnover, as a result of what they learnt from the programme.

Currently the Old Mutual Legends progamme is helping some 800 individuals in 34 organisations to reach their full potential and become better businesses. Be sure to apply before 15 February 2011, noting that applicants must have access to email and a telephone or cellphone. Visit Fetola for more information.
