Kiss and make up

It's not every day that one gets to see the president of the USA, Barack Obama, kissing one of his rivals. The Benetton UNHATE campaign promotes love, not hate.

Benetton’s latest campaign, the UNHATE project is a series of posters featuring world leaders kissing.

The campaign aims to encourage both leaders and citizens to stop a “culture of hatred” and rather, umm, kiss and make up.

Known for their controversial depiction of sensitive issues, Benetton sees the UNHATE posters rather as symbolic acts of reconciliation. The posters were created by Fabrica, in collaboration with 72andSunny.

Angela Merkel of Germany and French president Nicolas Sarkozy.

Palestinian president Mahmoud Abbas and Benjamin Netanyahu, israeli prime minister.

US President Barack Obama and Hugo Chavez of Venezuela.

North Korean Supreme Leader Kim Jong-Li and South Korean President Lee Myung-bak.
