Harnessing technology to serve the sea and with similar aims to The Ocean Clean-up, RanMarine WasteShark was launched by South African entrepreneur and “accidental environmentalist” Richard Hardiman.
Designed for harbours and waterfronts, WasteShark is a water-bound, plastic-busting drone that is modelled on a Whale Shark and boasts zero greenhouse emissions. It can also remove and retard invasive aquatic plants.
“The data enablement of our products allows customers to closely monitor, in real time, the environment and makeup of their water and create an accurate picture of the waters DNA over time. RanMarine products are designed to be used either manually via an onshore operator, or autonomously with online control and access.”
