GRID sofa by Studio Pool

Modular design and geometric elements come together in GRID, a sofa by Paris-based Studio Pool for Petite Friture, an edited collection of work by emerging designers from across Europe. The cushions, backrests and armrests can be configured in numerous different ways atop a walnut wooden base.

One end of the unit extends into a semi-circular wooden surface that can be used as seating, a side table or even removed. The piece is composed of a series of rectangles and semi-circles that echo each other, right down to the curved shape of the armrest.

Cotton and leather vary the textures of the cushions. A subtle colour palette offers two options –dark blue and mustard accents, and brick and coral.

“GRID is a piece for everyday life with a modular seat that can be composed differently to ensure comfort and that can be adapted to small or vast rooms as well as the sitter,” says the duo behind POOL, Léa Padovani and Sébastien Kieffer.
