So you know you’ve got a winner if something is really cool, in a stylish way, and completely biodegradable.
Enter Oat Shoes, a brand new Amsterdam-based initiative that’s combining shoe design and biodegradable materials. Their debut Virgin Collection made its first appearance at the Amsterdam International Fashion Week recently where it earned Oat Shoes the second prize in the Green Fashion competition.
Once you’re done wearing the shoes (after a very long time, of course) you can bury them in the garden, in the compost heap or even plant something in them.
At the fashion week, the collection was modelled by the semi-naked “Adam and Eve”, representing the idea of going back to nature.
