Good enough to eat

If it's good enough to parade on your body, it should be good enough to eat. de culinaire werkplaats has some edible garments.

Working at the intersection of food, design and art, Amsterdam-based de culinaire werkplaats is a design studio and restaurant intent of creating new and unique eating concepts and “eat'inspirations”.

Textile designer Marjolein Wintjes and chef Eric Meuring want to encourage people to “shake up” their culinary lifestyles while creating awareness about the “dinner plate of  the future”. With their fashion/food projects Wintjes and Meursing also hope to draw attention to the importance of a sustainable lifestyle.

Focussed on developing new tastes, textures and combinations, de culinaire werkplaats is guided by using all kinds of inspirational themes, such as “black”, “emotions”, “memories” or “architecture.

Their edible fashion project, “where or wear to eat” and “tasty textiles” used fruit and vegetable paper to make clothing. The paper, created from juice of blended plants is made through the use of a dehydrator.
