Tomas Kral’s new Split collection is the perfect solution for storing those arbitrary everyday objects that lie around the house in a stylish and decorative manner.
For Salone del Mobile 2014, Italian company Something Good collaborated with multiple designers including Tomas Kral, Odo Fioravanti and Oscar Diaz to create a collection of accessories, kitchenware and decor objects for the home and office, which promote a pure design culture.
Swiss-based designer Kral's Split collection is the result of wanting to design a decorative object that doubles up as a storage unit for all manner of things. The container, made from painted ceramic, features small “planes” dividing and organising the space within, ultimately altering an object which is as traditional in typology as it is assorted in content.
I conceived Split with a clear intention: the two heights are suitable for use in different situations and the inner walls allow for the subdivision of contents as desired, says Kral.
Split will be on show at Spazio Rossana Orlandi in Milan until 13 April 2014.
