Creeping out

Joe Paine's solo exhibition Inside Out showcases a variety of interesting products, suitable for indoors and outdoors.

The path that led Joe Paine to design is an interesting one. In 2008 he tripped over an overgrown creeper’s tendril and fractured his hip. But, he took this accident into a creative experiment, the Kreep planter, which earned him an EDIDA outdoor award.

And now Paine is presently his first solo exhibition featuring indoor planters, outdoor seating, lighting and avian products. Titled “Inside Out” the exhibition  runs until 9 October 2010 at Co-op in Jo’burg. It examines the threshold between “what goes in and what goes out”.

Co-op is a platform in Braamfontein for showcasing the work of new and emerging artists and designers.
