Umcebo Design has collaborated with various Durban-based creatives for the Intellectual Property exhibition, taking place at the Mezzanine Gallery in Durban until 19 August 2012.

Presenting work that is both unique and inspirational, Intellectual Property is about giving creatives an opportunity to demonstrate how the line between functional and conceptual art can effectively be blurred. The result is a showcase of work that serves a purpose while also making a powerful statement as a piece of art in its own right.

Together with showcasing exceptional creative work, Umcebo is also using this opportunity to highlights the wealth of local skills and creative talent that can be harnessed in decorating homes, offices and public spaces. As such, the overall aim of the exhibition is to get artists and crafters to collaborate and exhibit the result at gallery.

The exhibition comprises designs from Crushed Lemon, DUT Work Integrated Learning Fine Art Students, HIVAN (UKZN) and the Ubunye Crafters, Mandy Brockbank, Refugee Social Services, Umcebo Design; Wendy Chatterton and the Ukhamba Crafters and Woza Moya.
