From the Series

We all know about the iPod but now there’s also the Dry Pod. Designed by 22-year-old interior design student Michael Craig, this compact shelter will help to protect homeless people against tough weather conditions.

Craig, a student at the Design School of Southern Africa, is the winner of the 2010 Design Achievers Award. Students from various creative disciplines took part in the competition, themed "Hands-on, Minds-on, Hearts-on". The competition required the conception of a business design that could solve any of the social, environmental, industrial or cultural problems in South Africa.

In August 2010 Craig will represent young South African designers at an international design workshop in Hungary.
