If you’ve ever been keen for a more industrial look for your lounge then the new Brick couch might just be the touch you need.
Launched by KiBiSi for the Danish brand Versus, the Brick series consists of a pouf, a chair and a two or three seater couch.
KiBisi wanted to make a sofa with architectural references in response to KiBiSi partner Bjarke Ingels being unable to find the ideal architect’s sofa for his apartment.
A classic brick bond forms the cushion pattern while they’re tied together and fixed with a tailor quality button, made of moulded fibre concrete. The button, also designed by KiBisi, serves as another architectural reference.
Ingels of KiBiSi says: “What is a sofa but a pile of pillows for maximum comfort? Turning the habitual modularity of sofa design into a virtue, the Brick explores the tectonic of bricklaying to stack sandbag like cushions into architecture for comfort.”
