From the Series
Michael Burton’s two speculative design projects Future Farm and Nanotopia predict a future scenario where people grow and produce new clinical and pharmaceutical products on the body. With a widening gap between rich and poor, Future Farm predicts an instance where people in need of an economic income use their bodies to produce and sell adipose-fat stem cells, pushing their bodies for optimum productivity to create the ultimate obesogenic domestic environments. In Nanotopia, people are also presented as farms with growths cultivated, incubated and harvested on the body.
