Dutch studio Makkink & Bey reinterpreted five classic pieces by Brazilian design masters.

For the exhibition Brazil Influence Meets Brazil Style at Pierre Bergé et Associés in Brussels, Dutch studio Makkink & Bey were asked to reinterpret five classic pieces by Brazilian design masters Sergio Rogriguez, Jorge Zalszupin and Carlo Hauner. Known internationally for his creations based on recycling, Jurgen Bey sought to reinterpret the pieces with a contemporary vision, without losing sight of the sensual beauty of tropical nature that inspired his predecessors. The result gives the wood new proportions, couples it with leather and inoculates it with his own “pixelated” language.
