Concrete is the cornerstone (mind the pun) of the modern cityscape. It’s big, strong, powerful and everywhere, and not generally associated with aesthetic pleasure.
But cement company NPC-CIMPOR’s photography competition “Develop a new angle on concrete” will proabably change a couple of opinions and make you look differently at bridges and high-rise buildings.
Now in its second year, the competition challenged professional and amateur photographers to capture images that feature concrete and cement in their design, while also being beautiful, interesting and striking.
The three award-winning photographs and the work of the 50 finalists will be on show at the KZNSA Gallery in Durban until 7 November 2010.
