Artist Leigh Le Roux looks to Johannesburg for inspiration

Local graphic design artist Leigh Le Roux visually represents the city and its people.

Graphic design artist Leigh Le Roux takes inspiration for his work from the city of Johannesburg and the beauty he sees in the human figure. Le Roux says the constant interaction with others resonates deeply with him and is explored through his designs.

“When you meet the people here, all trying their best at anything they do, it's a good reason to get up in the morning,” he adds.

As a budding creative, Le Roux was influenced by popular animations such as Dragon Ball Z. His work is a combination of his love for natural beauty and his nostalgia for popular animation.

“I get to see the things that are born in my imagination come to life,” he says of his creative journey.

Le Roux’s current project is a series of illustrations inspired by the people he meets through social media platforms. His work was also previously featured at the Kalashnikovv Gallery in Braamfontein as part of the Drawing the Line group exhibition.
