The artworks of the various winners of the Spier Contemporary 2010 Exhibition will be touring the country for the next couple of months.

The Africa Centre in Cape Town is sending the Spier Contemporary 2010 Exhibition packing. Not because they’ve had enough, but to show off some of the best and most relevant artworks in South Africa to the whole country.

The Winners Tour Exhibition will present the artworks of the prizewinners that were drawn from the 132 pieces originally selected for the Spier Contemporary 2010 Exhibition. The exhibition encapsulates the current creative mood in the country, as interpreted by artists across various mediums.

More than 20 000 people saw the exhibition during its two-month tenure at the Cape Town City Hall. Director of the Africa Centre, Tanner Methvin says the tour is an exciting step that “allows us to achieve our intention of sharing the Spier Contemporary 2010 with as many people in South Africa as possible”.

Thet our begins in Port Elizabeth on 17 June 2010 and will also travel to Durban, Polokwane and Potchefstroom.
