Paris-based photographer Julien Mauve uses one singular source of light to illuminate certain sections of her images. What she creates is an eerie look beyond the darkness that encapsulates her world.
Dubbed After Lights Out, the series depicts a world where night no longer exists. Instead, “city lights cover up the stars, and cell phone screens lighten even the darkest of alleyways.”
“In the darkness of space, light is a beacon of hope,” writes Mauve. “What if darkness in our world once again overtook the night, transforming even the most insignificant light into an exception – a mystical phenomenon?”
