The History
The International Design Indaba® has a special interest in the development of young designers in South Africa. Throughout the year, the organisers of Design Indaba, Interactive Africa, host workshops across the country at selected tertiary institutions. During this highly interactive 5 day theme-based workshop, participating lecturers and students will have an opportunity to work closely and interact with international / local leading designers on a specific brief. The end product is always a tangible piece of work that is produced ie: brochure/book/bags/posters etc.

Should your institution wish to participate in future Design Indaba Workshops, please contact Shaunnelle on Tel: (021) 465 9966 or Fax: (021) 465 9978 . Alternatively, email to shaunnelle@interactiveafrica.com

Design Indaba presents Karlssonwilker in South Africa: A real-time design adventure
South Africans are all too aware of the idiosyncrasies and nuances within our rainbow of a nation. Indeed, local creatives are often lauded for the uncanny mirror that they present our nation, drawing on the very pathos and humour that fuels our daily interactions. Of course, these creatives are borne of the South African culture.
The question then is, what mirror would non-South Africans show up to our nation? In the light of the upcoming World Cup and increased international attention tuned into our country, this question becomes particularly pertinent.
