Nelly Ben Hayoun on designing experiences
Interaction designer Nelly Ben Hayoun engages the physics of the impossible to create out-of-body experiences. The most important things to the 2009 Royal College of Art graduate are the setup, the character and the interaction, as well as the dynamic that happens around her spaces. She is excited by “design to tell a story, design to make us access our dreams, our fantasies, and design to trade debate.”

Marguerite Humeau on reviving prehistoric creatures
Marguerite Humeau is a speculative designer and director of a design trilogy. Here she speaks about using design to reconnect and communicate with unreachable forms of life. After graduating from the Royal College of Art, Humeau set out to revive the sound of prehistoric animals. After she sent hundreds of letters consulting scientists, explorers, zoologists and pathologists, she began her project titled Proposal for Resuscitating Prehistoric Creatures, which seeks to recreate extinct animals for a contemporary environment.
Mark Shuttleworth on open source
South African entrepreneur and first South African on the moon, Mark Shuttleworth talks about the Ubuntu Project, a free, open-source Linux-based operating system. He talks about the challenges of designing a dual interface for use by corporate and enterprise professionals, as well as passionate amateurs. Shuttleworth also talks about usability, a rich user experience and ensuring content is king.
