Commonwealth on bridging the divide

Commonwealth talk about the process of bridging the divide between designing and making objects.

Commonwealth designers Zoë Coombes and David Boira talk about their background in architecture, their current design processes and working in a digital medium with a CNC mill. They describe their design language and production process. They also talk about making sensual and voluptuous objects, using animation and various production tools. The challenge for Commonwealth is using high-tech tools in a more human way that refers to a longer tradition of making things and material engagement.
