Bruce Mau on change and crises

What we need in a time of crisis is love, ambition and a redesign of the entire human environment as a work of art.

Bruce Mau talks about the “Centers for Massive Change: A Bruce Mau Design partnership project” that celebrate our global capacity to use design as a powerful force to effect social, political and ecological change. The current financial, ethical and ecological crisis in the world is an indication that the status quo is not working.

Mau contends that we need to start by inventing a form of design education that doesn’t alienate, then we need to look at design's capacity to effect and shape the world. We need to rethink and redesign everything we do, and then assume the responsibilities that go with that.
