Topsy is a South African non-profit and public benefit organisation that provides relief services to some of South Africa’s most under-resourced rural communities. Topsy partners with communities in and around the crossroads of the Mpumalanga, Free State and Gauteng provinces. Activities take place from a central project site at Grootvlei, Mpumalanga, called the Topsy Sanctuary which is established as a focal point for the surrounding communities. They provide communities with skills training programmes by way of two social enterprise projects for women in under-resourced communities: Shukushukuma Beadwork Project and the Tinyiko Sewing Project.
Both projects produce beautiful handmade items that include homeware, jewellery, clothing and a soft toy range.
