Siba Mtongana is a dynamic chef and food enthusiast. She has a degree in Food and Consumer Sciences and her own television show, Siba’s Table, which debuted in September 2013. While it started as a modest new entry to DSTV’s Food Network, Mtongana’s cooking programme is now broadcast all over the world in over 130 countries and has been a mainstay on The Cooking Channel of America since 2014.
Giving her take on old local favourites as well as appropriating exotic dishes to suite no-fuss & time-conscious home cooks, Mtongana has positioned herself as an influential part of the South African food scene.
Mtongana gears her food writing towards a contemporary, youthful audience with simple recipes and ingredient selections that range from everyday comfort cooking to more glamorous & sophisticated party food.
In 2014, Mtongana made Oprah Magazine’s distinguished “O Power List” of 21 African women who have made a substantial impact on the world. She has won three Galliova Awards for her food journalism, recipe development and cuisine styling.
