Multi award-winning designer Sascha Lobe works at the intersection of architecture, branding and graphic design. Lobe joined Pentagram as a partner in 2018 after serving as the co-founder of Stuttgart-based design consultancy L2M3 for 20 years. In November 2019, Lobe’s architectural branding with David Chipperfield Architects for Amorepacific was awarded in the graphics category of the prestigious Beazley Designs of the Year award.
The wayfinding signage for the Amorepacific HQ also won Best Way to Go in the Wallpaper* Design Awards. Other recent projects include branding work for MIDI, the industry standard music technology protocol, as well as designing the corporate identity for the Romanian food conglomerate Cocorico. He also took part in the Bodoni Museum's bicentenary celebration of Giambattista Bodoni's Manuale Tipografico, creating a calendar using only Bodoni letterforms displayed on a 32-inch E Ink display screen.
As the first-ever to be commissioned to design the Bauhaus- Archiv Museum's corporate identity, Lobe was appointed by The Conran Shop to create 330 limited-edition Bauhaus-inspired prints to commemorate 100 years of Bauhaus design for London Crafts Week 2019. To further mark the Bauhaus centenary, the Design Museum also delegated Lobe to design a pedestrian crossing for London Design Festival 2019.
Lobe has received over 100 international awards in all areas of visual communication. His printed artworks are currently held by the design collections of Museum für Gestaltung Zürich, Neue Sammlung München, Kunstbibliothek Berlin and others.
