Nakhane Touré is a young South African artist and performer. Touré was born in Alice, a small town in the Eastern Cape, and spent most of his formative years in Port Elizabeth.
Drawing influence from traditional African music as well as modern alternative rock, Touré released his debut body of work called Brave Confusion in 2013 which won the Best Alternative Album award at the 20th SAMAS ceremony.
Touré was chosen as Rolling Stones SA’s October cover artist in the same year. In September 2015, Touré published his first novel called Piggy Boy’s Blues. In 2016, Touré starred as the lead actor in the film The Wound, directed by John Trengrove.
