Mohau Seboka started creating her own bags and shirts as soon as she was old enough to handle a needle and thread. Today the University of Johannesburg fashion graduate focuses on bespoke womenswear, using forms and shapes that are exaggerated and spherical. Her work explores the contrast between the conservative nature of traditional dress and the uninhibited nature of contemporary dress.
Being strongly rooted in her culture, her designs incorporate its traditional fabric and different types of flowers, prints, textures, colours, with her key inspiration being the modern woman. Her label MABOLOMO was established in 2018 and seeks to dress women who dare to be bold and appreciate quality construction, fabric and design.
