An old fashioned, watercolours-on-paper illustrator

Maria Baumann's colour choices and gestural marks are joyful rather than perfect. Photoshop is used only at the end of the drawing process to sharpen and clean but hardly ever to interfere with the image. She is in the process of completing a Masters in Fine Art at Stellenbosch University, South Africa. Baumann's work stretches from instructional to decorative work for children to more adult themes such as the body in pain.
