A graduate of the University of Art and Design in Lausanne, Switzerland, Marc Dubois is an interaction designer who designed “Open Controllers” for his graduate project.
For “Open Controllers”, Dubois has combined the standard sensors that smartphones are equipped with – such as the gyroscope or camera – with everyday industrial objects in order to create the controllers. With a smartphone, rubber bands and some household basics at your disposal, the “Open Controllers” are easy to reproduce and use with the game specially developed for them.
This ongoing project investigates the relationship between people, everyday objects, play and technology.
After his studies, Dubois co-founded fragment.in studio to continue to make interactive projects that mix installation, video and game design.
