Jenna Skead studied graphic design at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology. After completing her degree she won an exchange to Malmö, Sweden through Shift, an eco design initiative. She then worked for Heather Moore of Skinny LaMinx for two years and has been doing freelance design and illustration work since then. Skead has worked in many spheres of design and has developed her own range of products after recently completing her first children’s book, "The Things We Lost at Sea".
Skead is creating a children’s fashion concept store for Design Indaba Expo 2015. The concept stems from her idea of "LePetit Adventurer" – a child who is on a voyage to see the Big Five in South Africa. Her products will be a contemporary twist on kitsch Big Five memorabilia and will include wallpaper, light fixtures, framed prints, baby clothes, enamel mugs, plates and tote bags, as well as adventure outfits for children.
