The Fridge

The Fridge, a three-piece neo-jazz band, infuse jazz, African folk and soul sounds to produce what they describe as 'urban scape'.

The Fridge is a three-piece neo-jazz band who is rapidly catching the attention of audiences everywhere. Don’t be quick to label their music as jazz; they prefer the term “urban scape”. The band's sound is heavily influenced by the urban space it was conceived in.

Even though these musicians are young, they're already very experienced in their respective crafts. The band consists of lead vocalist, Samekelo "Samthing Soweto" Mdolomba who has just released a solo EP entitled Ebsuku, and collaborated with heavyweights such as Tumi Molokane; on drums and percussion, Adebayo "Ade" Omotade and on bass guitar, electic guitar and flute, Mothusi Thusi who also lend their skills to rising star Bongi Mvuyana. Their unconventional approach to the iconic genre of jazz wherever they are is both risky and refreshing, pushing the boundaries every time they take up their instruments.
