Equip Skills for Living

Soft toys made in Diepsloot by 130 disadvantaged women .

We at Equip Skills for Living ( www.equipskills.org) are a South African NGO ( 004-334), primarily focussed on creating income independent individuals .In doing this we hope to empower previously unskilled people and give them the opportunity to play a role in developing socio- economic landscape.
Our projects are largely education and craft programmes located in Gauteng
Previously disadvantaged streams of our society are in great need of education and financial stability; our activities are all aimed at remedying this situation.
Our Misson is to change lives by providing skills for living.
The product we are displaying at the Design Indaba, are custom- made at our Diepsloot Centre. This centre trains 130 previously unemployed women in sewing, beading, and fabric - painting . We can create beautiful unique corporate gifts and one of our specialities are soft toys in Venda art, or other fabrics.( PLEASE SEE BELOW)
The women at the project are paid per product they make so every product you order helps us directly fight poverty in South Africa so buy a teddy bear and help change lives.
